Job Role:
We are seeking an experienced civil legal practitioner to lead our team and deliver holistic, trauma-informed legal services in remote communities.
About the Role
* Provide expert legal advice, advocacy, and representation in matters including family violence, tenancy, family law (excluding property), child protection, estates, and compensation claims.
* Supervise and mentor junior solicitors, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to provide high-quality legal services.
* Deliver services that are respectful, safe, and accessible to vulnerable clients.
* Participate in regular outreach trips to remote communities, building relationships with local leaders and service providers.
* Engage in community legal education, stakeholder partnerships, and systemic advocacy to promote social justice and improve client outcomes.
* Contribute to service planning, data collection, and reporting, providing insights to inform future service delivery.
* Participate in reflective practice and peer-based learning to continually improve professional skills and client outcomes.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, agencies, and local service providers, fostering a culture of collaboration and respect.
Your Qualifications and Skills
Admission as a legal practitioner in Australia and an unrestricted practising certificate in Western Australia are essential requirements. You will also demonstrate: Strong legal skills, with a focus on civil law matters. Excellent advocacy, written communication, and interpersonal abilities. The capacity to explain complex legal concepts clearly using plain language, tailored to diverse audiences. Resilience, adaptability, and emotional intelligence in working with vulnerable clients.
