FUSE Recruitment partnered with MERCK Process Solutions ANZ to find their new Strategic Account Manager. Your territory will include primarily strategic customers as per the PS Customer Stratification model. You will be responsible for driving growth and protecting revenue across a portfolio of biotechnology and pharmaceutical accounts in the ANZ region. Your role involves developing deep relationships with key stakeholders, understanding customer needs, and delivering high-value solutions that promote customer success and Merck’s market leadership. What will you be doing?
Achieve sales targets within your territory through proactive sales strategies and value-based selling.
Defend and grow account sales across customer segments using solution selling and industry knowledge.
Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers and influencers in biotech and pharma accounts.
Develop and manage account profiles to identify growth opportunities aligned with global strategies.
Manage the customer journey via digital and in-person interactions to meet evolving needs.
Collaborate with internal teams including Marketing, Technical Specialists, Customer Service, Distribution, and Supply Chain for seamless service delivery.
Prepare and coordinate commercial proposals, quotations, and technical documents tailored to customer needs.
Participate in industry trade shows, seminars, and conferences to promote Merck’s capabilities and stay updated on market trends.
Utilize digital tools, CRM platforms, and market intelligence for informed decision-making and customer engagement.
What do you need?
A degree in Science or Engineering, specializing in Biotech, Life Sciences, or Chemistry.
Proven success in complex solution-based sales, project management, and account development in a B2B environment.
Ability to influence and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including cross-functional and global teams.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Comfort with CRM systems, digital tools, and data analytics to enhance performance.
Ideally, 1–3 years of relevant experience in sales or technical sales within biomanufacturing, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences.
