**Your main responsibilities will include**:
- Design and Strategy Development: Work closely with global and local teams to ensure the design aligns with both global standards and local market needs for the HSBC Australia mobile banking app. Advocate for user-centered design principles and foster a culture of innovation within the team.
- Collaborative Design Process: Engage in a collaborative design process with project managers, engineers, and other designers. Utilize agile. methodologies and design sprints to iteratively develop solutions, from ideation through prototyping to final implementation, ensuring a cohesive and innovative user experience.
- User Research and Validation: Collaborate with design researchers to conduct user research and usability testing. Utilizing insights to inform design decisions, ensuring solutions are deeply rooted in user needs and behaviors. Regularly validating designs with users to ensure usability and desirability.
- Cross-functional Communication and Collaboration: Act as the key liaison between the design team and other stakeholders, including software engineers, product managers, and marketing teams. Effectively communicating design concepts, rationale, and specifications to ensure alignment and facilitate smooth implementation.
- Design System and Standards Compliance: Develop and maintain the design system for the HSBC Australia mobile banking app, ensuring consistency across the product. Align with global design standards and contribute to the evolution of the global design language.
Requirements
**To be successful in this role, you will need**:
- 8 years of experience in UX/UI/Product design, with a proven track record of leading design projects. Experience within the tech or financial industry and mobile app design is desirable, though not required.
- Expertise in Design Tools: Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
- Agile and Lean UX Methodologies: An understanding of agile software development and Lean UX methodologies. Experience in facilitating design sprints and workshops.
- Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor others, manage stakeholders, and articulate design vision and strategy clearly.
- Global Collaboration: Experience working in a global team environment, with a sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to manage and integrate global design trends with local user needs.
- Innovation and Problem-solving: A strong portfolio that demonstrates innovative design solutions and a deep understanding of user experience principles.
