Product Designer opportunity at a Big 4 Bank - Redesign of customer portal
Your new company
One of the Big 4 Banks is looking for a Product Designer to join their Technology team, contributing to the redesign and reimagination of a key customer portal. This is a hands-on role requiring strong end-to-end product design capabilities, with a focus on desktop and responsive experiences. You’ll be embedded in one or two newly formed squads (out of seven total), collaborating closely with Product Owners, PMs, and the broader design chapter. The role spans from discovery and research through to delivery, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and co-creation.
Your recent role & responsibilities
- Conduct user requirement analysis and creates user flows, journey maps, personas, scenarios and task analysis to inform design decisions
- Create new designs, including wireframes, prototypes and visual designs, for app and web user interfaces
- Plan, estimate and execute discovery and design processes using customer-centred design principles and usability testing methods
- Test and rapidly translate research findings into design solutions
- Conduct discovery activities and workshops to gain quantitative and qualitative insights to improve apps and websites
- Align business goals and customer needs into digital strategies and designs
Ensure that designs adhere to relevant guidelines or standards for accessibility
- What you'll need to succeed
- 4–5 years’ experience in UX/UI design, ideally within complex platforms
- Strong end-to-end product design skills (research through to delivery)
- Experience in financial services or payments is highly desirable
- Comfortable working across multiple squads and collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Able to hit the ground running with minimal onboarding
Not a leadership role – this is a hands-on, tool-focused position

This role offers a 6-month contract with a daily rate of $800 + super per day. You'll be working in a high-performing team, and in a hybrid setting.
