We are currently seeking an experienced Shoe Maker/Repairer to join our team in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Darwin, Hobart and other cities.
The primary responsibilities of this role include:
* Repairing soles, heels, and other footwear components using sewing, buffing, and specialized shoe repair machines and materials.
* Repairing belts, luggage, purses, and similar leather or fabric products.
* Discussing and assessing footwear requirements with customers, taking accurate measurements for custom shoes.
* Selecting and cutting patterns from leather or other materials, and assembling or fastening shoe parts (e.g., insoles, soles) using sewing, gluing, or stitching methods.
* Trimming, dressing, and finishing shoes and boots to ensure high-quality craftsmanship.
* Estimating repair or custom footwear costs, providing quotes, and processing payments.
* Making decisions regarding efficient operations and supervising other shoemakers and repairers as needed.
This role requires:
* AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV, or three years of relevant full-time experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
* Leadership and management skills are highly desirable.
