Are you a commercially minded, data-driven planner with a passion for turning numbers into strategy?
We're looking for an analytical and proactive Assistant/Junior Planner to join a fast-paced fashion retail business, supporting the Merchandise team to drive trade performance, optimize inventory, and influence key commercial decisions. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives in a dynamic retail or ecommerce environment and loves ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Assistant/Junior Planner, you'll play a key role in supporting product performance across all channels and regions through reporting, forecasting, allocations, markdown management, and strategic analysis. You'll work closely with Buying, Ecommerce, and Operations to deliver actionable insights that directly impact business growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Trade & Commercial Performance
* Prepare and deliver daily, weekly, and seasonal trade reporting with clear performance insights
* Identify key sales drivers, risks, opportunities, and trends against plan
* Monitor stock availability across regions and channels to minimize overstock and stock shortages
* Conduct post-launch analysis on new products to inform reorder and future ranging strategies
* Support seasonal planning through historical analysis, trend identification, and strategic recommendations
Inventory & Allocations
* Own the end-to-end allocations process across all channels
* Analyze stock levels, store capacity, and historical performance to maximize sell-through
* Conduct detailed size curve analysis to improve forecasting accuracy
* Support inventory optimization to ensure commercial efficiency
Markdown & Pricing Strategy
* Manage the markdown lifecycle from analysis through execution
* Identify slow sellers, aged stock, and broken sizing
* Collaborate on promotional strategies and markdown initiatives
* Execute markdown events and deliver post-event analysis to improve future outcomes
Data & Systems
* Maintain SKU reporting, line cards, and core merchandising data
* Ensure data integrity across all reporting systems
* Deliver ad hoc analysis and actionable recommendations to stakeholders
ABOUT YOU
* 2+ years' experience in merchandise planning or a highly analytical retail/ecommerce role
* Strong Excel skills with experience managing large datasets and complex reporting
* Highly numerate with strong commercial acumen
* Experience with inventory management, forecasting, or allocations
* Exposure to WSSI, OTB, or range planning is advantageous
* Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
* A confident communicator who can translate data into clear recommendations
