Strategy and growth: Set supply chain strategy tied to our long-term goals. Turn it into an annual plan with clear targets for service, cost and stock levels. Drive profitability and cost effectiveness within the supply chain division.
Best practice and improvement: Define standards for how we buy, store, pick, dispatch and deliver. Run a rolling improvement program that removes waste, speeds up flow and lifts quality.
Planning and performance: Keep one joined-up plan across procurement, warehousing, logistics, fleet and Bat Bags. Run a short weekly planning check-in and a monthly performance review with clear actions.
Leadership: Set objectives and budgets for your managers, coach them, build capability and ensure succession. Partner closely with Finance, Operations and Sales so customer service, cost and cash stay in balance.
Governance: Hold managers to account for results and the use of agreed policies and procedures. Keep a live register of key risks and practical contingency plans.
Procurement & Warehousing: Approve buying and stock policies (reorder points, target levels, slow-moving stock). Guide supplier selection and terms. Ensure accurate stock records, timely receipting and strong warehouse standards.
Negotiate and guide supplier selection, pricing, and terms, step in on major supplier issues.
Logistics: Set the approach for carrier selection, delivery time expectations and service levels. Oversee daily and weekly delivery planning through your Logistics Manager and resolve structural issues with transport partners.
What you’ll bring
- Senior leadership across purchasing, warehousing and logistics (manufacturing/industrial setting ideal)
- Proven success leading other managers and multi-site teams with clear targets for service, cost and stock levels
- A track record of practical process improvements (for example: better picking methods, clearer supplier reviews, cleaner data in business systems)
- Strong commercial judgement with suppliers and transport partners, pricing, terms and service expectations
- Confidence running a simple weekly planning rhythm and a focused monthly review, with actions followed through
- Tertiary qualification in business, supply chain, operations, engineering or similar (or equivalent experience)
- Current driver’s licence and comfort visiting sites, suppliers and transport partners
