Are you an experienced survey manager and data manager? Do you have excellent statistical and analytical skills? An opportunity has opened to work in the Evidence and Evaluation team of the Education directorate. The Assistant Director, Surveys is responsible for high-level project management to enable the conducting of the School Satisfaction and Climate Survey and the Post School Destination survey, as well as other national surveys (eg TALIS) and providing advice for ad hoc internal ESO surveys. The successful candidate will liaise with schools and other stakeholders and oversee survey construction and validation. Since the results of these surveys inform executive decision-making at the highest level, the Assistant Director, Surveys will need to possess the ability to translate the data into information, with an emphasis on contributing to the Directorate’s strategic priorities. The role requires strong collaboration, written and verbal communication skills and will suit a self-motivated, detail orientated person with strong time management and organisational skills, who can work under pressure to achieve deadlines. The Assistant Director, Surveys reports to the Senior Director, Evidence and Evaluation. Eligibility/Other requirements: The following capabilities form the criteria that are required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Professional / Technical Skills and Knowledge Demonstrated experience with the collection of large longitudinal survey data sets. Knowledge and skills in data management and custodianship. High level statistical analysis skills and/or ability to provide advice on survey design. Highly developed liaison and communication skills, both oral and written. Behavioural Capabilities Demonstrated ability to work independently and to effectively plan, manage and prioritise the workload of a small team. Compliance Requirements / Qualifications Advanced knowledge of data management and statistical software, such as SurveyManager, Excel, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and PowerBI will be considered favourably Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
