We are seeking an organised and detail-focused Engineering Data Management Officer to manage and maintain technical engineering data that supports the full asset lifecycle across our clients Inner and Outer Harbour operations.
This role is critical in ensuring accurate, accessible, and up-to-date engineering information is available to internal teams and external stakeholders, supporting design, construction, operations, maintenance, and asset disposal activities.
About the Role
Reporting to the Engineering Designer Lead, you will be responsible for the management, governance, and continuous improvement of engineering data sets, drawings, and digital models. You will play a key role in data retrieval, archival management, digitisation, and coordination of technical information requests across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain engineering drawings, design models, calculations, reports, and registers for Inner and Outer Harbour assets, including project files and microfilm records
* Register, manage, and retrieve drawings and documents within the Content Manager (CM) system
* Support data management activities using tools and technologies such as data quality management (DQM), data governance, metadata management, and data catalogues
* Search, compile, and provide technical drawings and engineering documentation to support operational and project needs
* Digitise and maintain historic engineering drawing archives and provide research support as required
* Develop and improve processes for data management, revision control, data updates, 3D data sets, and design model information
* Support business data release activities including FOI requests, Planning Application requests, Before You Dig Australia (BYDA) requests, and information requests from leaseholders, maintenance, operations, planning, and project teams, under guidance from discipline engineers
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Demonstrated experience in a records or data management role, ideally within an engineering or asset-intensive environment
* Ability to link and maintain engineering and asset data across BIM, GIS, and asset management systems
* Knowledge of records filing systems; experience with drawing and microfilm printing techniques is advantageous
* Experience working with digital models and BIM environments, including metadata and databases
* Strong computer literacy with the ability to use databases, software applications, and spreadsheets effectively
* A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to shared data management processes
