The Smart Energy Council is the peak body and independent voice for Australia's smart energy and renewable sector, representing over 1500 businesses as members across solar, battery storage, hydrogen, smart transport and emerging clean technologies. We are bold, fearless advocates for the renewable energy transition, working across industry, government, and the community to accelerate action on smart energy solutions.

About the Role
This is a junior, execution-focused role, ideal for someone early in their marketing career who enjoys doing the work - designing, creating, editing, scheduling and supporting campaigns.
You'll be part of a small team based in our Canberra office, working closely with senior marketing and communications lead to deliver marketing, communications and member engagement activities across multiple channels.

Key Responsibilities
Graphic Design & Creative Execution
* Create print designs including reports, brochures, prospectuses and event collateral
* Design social media graphics for all platforms
* Follow and apply brand guidelines consistently
* Work with tools such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
Website Maintenance (WordPress)
* Update and maintain company website content
* Support basic page edits, layouts and visual updates
* Assist with campaign and event-related web content
* Wordpress experience highly desirable
Video Editing
* Edit short-format videos for social media (Insta Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok etc)
* Optimise content for different platforms and formats
* Use Adobe Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve
Digital Marketing
* Assist with setting up and managing paid campaigns across:
* Google Ads, Meta (Facebook & Instagram), LinkedIn
* Support ad creation, uploads, monitoring and reporting
* Having working knowledge of SEO is desirable
Social Media
* Create marketing assets for social media in different formats
* Assist with day-to-day social media posting and scheduling
* Schedule content using Sprout Social or similar tools
Email & Member Communications
* Design and send EDMs and newsletters
* Support member communications, including updates, announcements and event promotions
* Use platforms such as ActiveCampaign, BeeFree, Hubspot or similar
Events & Marketing Support
* Assist with event communications and promotional materials
* Support campaigns before, during and after events
* Experience with event comms is an advantage but not essential
Key Skills and Experience
* 1 to 3 years' experience (or strong internship/graduate experience) in marketing, communications or design
* Strong execution skills and attention to detail
* Confidence using design tools and learning new platforms
* A proactive, organised and reliable team player
* Interest in renewable energy, sustainability or purpose-driven work
