About This Opportunity
Are you a skilled HVAC/Refrigeration Technician or Electrician ready for the next step in your career? We're looking for an experienced Technician who wants more than just day‑to‑day service calls. In this role you'll still be actively working on HVAC or Electrical systems, while acting as the key on‑site contact – coordinating contractors, solving technical issues, and ensuring facilities perform at their best.
Key Responsibilities
* Support continuous improvement and contribute to a safe, efficient facilities environment.
* Deliver and coordinate maintenance, repairs, and minor works across the precinct.
* Act as the main client contact, managing requests and ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
* Supervise contractors, source quotes, and oversee works to meet safety, quality, budget, and timeframes.
* Inspect and monitor building assets and systems, log jobs, and maintain accurate records.
* Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and UQ safety requirements.

About You
We're looking for an experienced HVAC/Refrigeration or Electrical Technician with strong technical expertise in building maintenance across large and complex facilities. Dual trade is favoured but not essential. You must:
* Have experience in commercial and industrial maintenance.
* Hold a current Queensland Driver's Licence.
* Possess proven knowledge of building services.
* Have basic computer skills.
* Be available for after‑hours on‑call roster.
* Have strong understanding of WHS and environmental legislation, codes and standards.
* Demonstrate problem‑solving skills and ability to manage diverse maintenance issues effectively.
* Show excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, building strong, trusted relationships.
* Be willing to learn building services covering reticulated water, Mechanical HVAC plant, Mechanical HVAC electrical, minor lighting and power, chilled water, compressed air/vacuum, fume cupboards and building management systems.
* Have a desire to grow and learn project and contract management within building maintenance services.
HVAC Technician must have an A‑Trik license, QBCC Mechanical Service license and restricted Electrical license with extensive maintenance experience. Electrician must have a Queensland Electrical Mechanics License.
Must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of the appointment. Employer‑sponsored work rights are not available.
