Lead Strategy, Build Culture, Drive Change
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates are strongly preferred for this role to support cultural leadership, community connection, and culturally safe service delivery. Applications from all suitably qualified candidates will equally be considered.
We're seeking a full-time Program Manager - Permanency Support Program (PSP) to be based at our Rosebery office in Eastern Sydney. You'll be a consistent presence in the office, offering real-time leadership, coaching, and cultural support to a small but high-impact team.
You'll manage Casework Managers, Admin staff, and indirectly oversee up to 10 caseworkers - shaping service direction while staying closely connected to day-to-day operations. This is a hands‐on leadership role for someone ready to navigate complex systems, support staff who are deeply connected to the community, and ensure compliance without compromising cultural integrity.
You'll lead not just with answers, but with presence, purpose, and the strength your team and community can rely on.
More specifically, you'll be:
* Leading PSP case management operations across Eastern Sydney
* Supporting and mentoring Team Managers and Admin staff
* Managing budgets, performance targets, and funding obligations
* Representing KARI with government, funders, and community stakeholders
* Championing Aboriginal‐led solutions, especially in kinship care
* Ensuring practice is safe, trauma‐informed, and culturally grounded
* Navigating dual accountability: government compliance and community trust
* Being a steady, culturally safe presence for your staff - many of whom are also part of the community
What You Bring to the Table
You're a strong and steady leader who cares about people, purpose, and culture. You know how to support a team, work with community, and manage complex systems, all while staying calm under pressure.
You have experience in social work, community services, or a similar field. Maybe you've worked in Out‐of‐Home Care (OOHC) before or you've worked in government, health, education, or an ACCO, and you understand how the system works.
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
* Knowledge of NSW child protection, including OOHC, DCJ, OCG, and mandatory reporting
* Experience leading people, supervising staff, supporting performance, and building team culture
* Confidence to guide your team, especially during tough or emotional situations
* A calm, consistent presence, someone your team can rely on
* The ability to walk alongside staff and community and balance this with government requirements
It's a bonus if you also have:
* A Cert IV or higher in management, community, or human services
* Experience leading Aboriginal teams or kinship care programs
* A background in health, education, or government
Why You'll Love Working at KARI Ltd
KARI Ltd offers a salary of $139,750 PLUS Super, along with a host of other benefits, including:
* Full salary packaging (up to $15,900 tax‐free)
* 35‐hour work week (7‐hour days) with monthly RDOs
* Annual performance‐based bonuses
* Free parking at our Rosebery office
* Access to pool vehicles + Fuel reimbursements for work‐related travel
* Laptop, mobile phone & uniforms provided
* A strong, values‐led culture and a team that's proud to be part of something bigger
