We are currently looking for an urban beekeeper/apiarist to join our team.
**Roles and responsibilities include**:
- Breeding and raising bees for the production of honey, beeswax, pollen, royal jelly, and propolis
- Responsible for hive maintenance, hive splitting, harvesting, and swarming control and regulation
- Manage disease control and treatment protocols
- Supervising and undertaking breeding, feeding, and nutrition programs specific to bees
- Arranging routinised hive inspections, honey extraction, and hive maintenance
- Monitor and maintain the health, welfare, and condition of bee colonies, including developing and overseeing strategies to manage biosecurity and other risks
- Providing water sources and growing nectar-producing plants to maintain bee health and productivity
- Conduct beekeeping workshops and maintain strong customer relations
- Sterilising equipment, collecting, grading, and packaging honey and other bee products
- Supervising general beekeeping activities including the provision and maintenance of infrastructure such as hives, frames, bee suits, and extracting equipment
- Arranging the sale, purchase, and transportation of bees and bee products
- Overseeing honey house operations, scheduling beekeepers' runs, managing inventory, processing supplier orders, and maintaining hive inspection records
**You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident to apply.**
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher, or at least five years of relevant experience as an urban beekeeper/apiarist or in a related field.
**Experience**:
- 2 years minimum experience as an urban beekeeper/apiarist.

**Salary Offered**
- $75,000 - 90,000 per annum, plus superannuation.
**Employment Type**
