About the Role:
We're seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Support Worker to oversee a Supported Independent Living (SIL) home. This is a permanent part time role offering 74 hours per fortnight with 5 rostered days off (including 1 weekend off).
This role is supporting a 39‑year‑old male who has Autism (Level 3), Intellectual Impairment and Cerebral Palsy. Majority of the shift times start between 2pm‑4pm and finish at 11.30pm.
What You’ll Do:
- Direct Support: Deliver hands‑on support, assisting with daily tasks and activities, both in their home and in the community.
- Team Leadership: Motivate and support your team by providing coaching, guidance, and ensuring a positive working environment.
- Coordination: Oversee the smooth running of the SIL, including rostering, documentation, and daily operations.
About you:
The ideal candidate will have.
- Experience supporting individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities.
- Proven skills supporting individuals with Autism – Level 3
- A minimum 3 years’ experience working in complex SIL environments.
- A passion for empowering individuals and fostering independence.
- A calm, non‑judgemental approach with strong professional boundaries
- Strong leadership qualities, mentorship skills, and a collaborative spirit.
Additional Opportunities
In addition to the above position, we are also recruiting for a team of support workers for a current SIL commencing in Ipswich towards the end of November. This location is supporting a male (60 years old) and a female (58 years old).
These positions would ideally suit someone with a nursing/medical background. The shift times for these participants range from;
- 6am – 4pm
- 9am – 7pm
- 5pm – 10pm
- A passive sleepover (10pm‑6am)
Qualifications:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check, Positive Notice Blue Card (or ability to obtain both)
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Open QLD Driver Licence and reliable, insured vehicle.
- Certificate III (or higher) in Disability, Aged Care, or related field (preferred)
