Fulltime electrical instrument technician (e&i)

Rockingham
Instrowest

Offer description

About the Role:
Join a team where your skills actually matter. Instrowest is growing fast, and we’re looking for motivated, hands-on technicians to jump onboard. If you’re someone who enjoys solving real problems on operating plants (not just shooting loops on commissioning projects), working across a wide range of process instrumentation, and taking pride in getting equipment running right you’ll fit in perfectly.

In this role, you’ll be out on-site completing calibrations, maintenance, fault-finding and installations on everything from belt scales to pressure, flow, temperature and level instruments. Every day is different, and you’ll be supported by a team of experienced techs who genuinely help each other out.

With mostly Monday to Friday scheduling means your weekends are usually yours, giving you more time for family, mates, hobbies and the things that matter most. You still get the variety and site exposure of a FIFO-style role, but with a more predictable rhythm to your week. Travel, accommodation and logistics are organised for you, so you can focus on the work and get home ready to relax.

Key Responsibilities:

* Get hands-on with real instrumentation work — installing, commissioning, maintaining, and calibrating a wide variety of instruments: pressure, level, flow, temperature, density systems, bulk weighing gear, control valves… the whole lot.

* Play a key role in shutdowns — you’ll start on the tools, but there’s quick progression into leading hand and even supervising shutdowns once you’re ready.

* Build and maintain quality gear — assembling control panels, installing tubing, completing hazardous area inspections, and keeping calibration equipment in top shape.

* Support our clients properly — helping with instrument selection, fault-finding, troubleshooting weird issues, and keeping calibration records accurate and tidy.

* Be part of the planning and reporting — assisting with reports, audits, scopes, shutdown deliverables, and whatever it takes to keep jobs moving smoothly.

* Commission the Instrowest way — not just ticking ITRs and shooting loops, but actually ensuring systems run properly and our clients get the performance they expect.

What Instrowest Offers:

* Great Pay & Real Earning Potential – Solid full-time salary with the ability to earn up to ~$200k a year. Extra uplifts for Leading Hand/Supervisory work, super paid on all hours, plus participation in our annual company bonus scheme.

* Generous Time Off – Enjoy 6 weeks of paid annual leave each year, with the flexibility to cash out anything above 4 weeks. With the nature of the work, taking time off when you need is usually never an issue

* Travel & Vehicle Perks – You’ll have a mine-spec dual cab ute, full tool set, and plenty of travel across WA. You get paid to travel even on flights!

* Room to Step Up – Clear pathways into Leading Hand and Supervisory positions for those who want to take that next step.

* All the Gear You Need – Laptop, iPad, work phone, company credit and industry best calibration equipment.

* Variety of Work – Get exposure across mining, power, mineral processing, and other industries — no two weeks are the same and your skill set grows fast.

* Do Good While You Work –Instrowest will sponsor a non-profit (sporting club, social club etc.) that you are involved with. Instrowest wants to support something that’s important to you.

Required Qualifications:

* Cert III/IV in Instrumentation

* WA Electrical or Restricted Electrical License with Instrumentation background.

* WA C Class Open Driver's License.

* 2+ years of experience in Instrument Calibration, Fault Diagnosis, and Commissioning, ideally in heavy industry (mining, petrochemicals, power).

Additional qualifications:

EEHA, EWP, Confined Space, LR/HR Licence are advantageous.
