Job Description
Retail Manager – Mirrabooka WA Kogan People Solutions is working with a long-running fruit and vegetable market in the Mirrabooka shopping precinct. The business is known locally for cheaper fresh produce, a broad multicultural range of fruit and vegetables, and being part of the fresh-food section at a busy shopping centre. Our client is now seeking a qualified and experienced Retail Manager.
This role is responsible for ensuring excellent customer service, efficient store performance, and strong team leadership in a fast-paced grocery retail environment.
About the role
* Salary: Negotiable in the range of $75k to $85k plus superannuation per annum.
* Location: Mirrabooka WA
* Tenure: Full-time and ongoing
Core Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring consistent standards and procedures are applied.
* Advising the purchasing manager regarding stock requirements (and floor space / display requirements)
* Set pricing levels at each store, considering market and local competition activity
* Oversee staffing arrangements to ensure adequate rostering and staffing (checkout operators and shop assistants) across all days of operation.
* Maintain high standards of store presentation and hygiene.
* Supervise, mentor and lead store staff including checkout operators and shop assistants.
* Minimise shrinkage and waste by implementing and maintaining best practice stock rotation methods.
* Ensure the store complies with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations, food safety standards, and relevant consumer legislation.
* Manage customer relationships and customer feedback.
* Take P&L responsibility, including wage and expense control.
What We're Looking For
* Relevant post-secondary qualifications to at least Diploma level or agreed equivalent.
* At least 1 year's suitable experience in grocery or perishable food retail management.
* Proven ability to organise, mentor and provide leadership to staff.
* Demonstrate a strong customer focus – possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to deal and work with a diverse range of customers.
* Solid business acumen and administration skills, understanding of financial documents such as profit and loss statements.
* Be highly organised and able to prioritise workloads to effectively meet deadlines.
* Advanced skills in POS systems and integrated EFTPOS terminals; highly tech‐literate in high‐volume retail environments.
