About the Role:

Join our team as a Patient Services Assistant (PSA) on a part time basis to work at Dandenong Hospital based In Dandenong.

Being part of the Support Services team and reporting to the General Services Manager, PSAs play a vital role in supporting clinical team in the delivery of patient care. PSAs do a range of tasks including, but not limited to, cleaning, patient transfers, and equipment handling. Working as part of a team and on their own, PSAs are responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and patient support across the hospital.

Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):

* Daily ward cleaning, discharge room cleans, and unscheduled cleans
* Patient transfers using equipment such as hoists, slides, bed movers and wheelchairs
* Ensuring adherence to infection prevention protocols at all times.
* Bed making and discharge cleans
* Patient discharge assistance
* Mortuary transfers
* Ward equipment, cleaning and transferring
* Supporting clinical staff with patient care tasks as directed
* Physical work including lifting and manual handling

We are seeking PSA's to join our Support service team in various locations. These are patient-facing roles, the PSA will be on-call to the clinical team to provide support as required, this can include but is not limited to: transferring patients from one area to another, discharge cleaning, food collection, blood transfer to pathology, assist with cleaning.

We currently have the following opportunities available:

Position 1: Emergency Department: (All shifts-0730 – 1600)

Week 1: Thursday to Sunday

Week 2 & 4: Tuesday to Friday

Week 3: Wednesday to Sunday

Total Hours per fortnight: 68 hours

Position 2: Thomas St Dialysis (All Shifts

Week 1 & 3: Tuesday & Thursday

Week 2 & 4: Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday

Total hours per fortnight: 20 hours

Position 3: DDTC: Day Treatment Centre (All shifts

Weeks 1 To 4: Monday to Friday

Total hours per fortnight: 55 hours

Position 4: DI Floater (All shift 0830 – 1700)

Weeks 1 & 4: Monday to Friday

Week 2: Monday & Wednesday to Friday

Week 3: Tuesday to Friday

Total hours per fortnight: 72 hours

Position 5: Southwest 4 (All shifts 0930 – 1800) & DDTC (All Shifts 1000 – 1800)

Week 1: Monday, Thursday & Friday (SW4)

Week 2 & 4: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (SW4)

Week 3: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (SW4)

Week 1, 2, 3 & 4 Saturday (DDTC)

Total hours per fortnight: 67 hours

Position 6: N3 (late start 10.30 – 1830), N3 (early start, SW4 (All 0930 – 1800), ED, ED (0730 – 1530) Floater

Week 1 to week 4 Late Start Mondays N3

Weeks 2 & 3 Early Start Wednesday N3

Weeks 1 Tuesday & Wednesday SW4

Weeks 2 & 4 Thursday & Friday: SW4

Week 3 Tuesday. SW4

Weeks 1 Saturday ED Late

Weeks 2 & 3 ED -Early

Week 4 Saturday & Sunday Floater

Total hours per fortnight: 71 hours

Position 7: West 4 (All Shifts 0930 – 1800)

Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday

Week 2, 3 & 4: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday

Total hours per fortnight: 60 hours

Position 8: N3 (All shifts, Floater (All shifts, ED (Early, (Late ED 1000 to 1830) & DI (0900 – 1700)

Weeks 1 to 4: Mondays, (N3), Saturday & Sunday (Floater)

Week 1 Thursday DI, Friday (Early ED)

Week 2 & 4 Friday (ED late).

Total hours per fortnight: 63.75 hours

Position 9: ED-(1500 – 2300) Floater

Week 1,2,3 & 4 Thursday & Friday- Floater

Week 1, 2, & 3 Saturday. ED

Week 4, Saturday Floater

Week 1,2,3, & 4 Sunday ED

Week 1 Wednesday Floater

Week 3 Monday ED

Total hours per fortnight: 66.75 hours

Position 10: Floater (All weekday shifts 1430 – 2300), (All Weekends

Week 1 to week 4 Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

Week 2 & 4 Sunday

About You:

To ensure your success in this role, you will bring experience in patient services within a hospital, aged care or commercial cleaning setting with strong demonstrated knowledge of infection control and hygiene practices. You will have a passion for patient care and approach patients with respect and empathy. You are a reliable and punctual team member with great verbal and written communication skills; as well as intermediate computer skills. Whether you work independently or as part of a team; you always follow manual handling, safety protocols, and procedural instructions.

You will also hold the following certificates:

* Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Required)
* Food Handlers Certificate – Level 1 (Required)
