You’ll use your practical building know‑how and people skills to investigate damage, explain the path forward in simple terms, and keep things moving. This is a permanent full time role based on the Gold Coast, with travel to our Meanjin (Brisbane) office one day per month
What You'll Do
• Visit residential properties to investigate (assess), review/ validate scopes of works and quantify building damage, documenting clear, accurate findings for each claim though a report.
• Determine practical repair methodologies and recommend cost‑effective solutions that balance quality, safety and customer needs, negotiating fair outcomes with builders and suppliers, including quotes, tenders and total‑loss settlements where required.
• Set clear expectations with customers with empathy and pace.
• Monitor repair progress, validate quality at key stages, and resolve issues quickly in partnership with our supply chain.
• Manage reserves and settlement practices responsibly to prevent cost escalation and deliver sustainable claim outcomes.
What You'll Bring
• Practical building knowledge from a trade background or equivalent experience assessing residential damage.
• Confident communication skills, able to translate technical details into simple, reassuring next steps.
• Negotiation and influencing capability to align customers, builders and suppliers on the best outcome.
• Sound judgment and problem‑solving, making timely decisions with incomplete information when needed.
• Comfortable using digital tools for notes, photos, scopes and status updates while working independently.
• Customer focus with resilience and empathy, including when supporting vulnerable customers.
• A current driver’s licence; relevant building or financial services qualifications are welcomed, not required.
