Job Title: Environmental Conservation Specialist
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to environmental conservation and management in a professional setting.
* The successful applicant will undertake inspections of public and private lands to identify priority weeds and enforce relevant legislation as required.
* Technical expertise in weed control techniques will be provided to land managers, enhancing their knowledge and capabilities.
* Community education on weed-related matters will be developed and shared, fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Control of priority weeds on council-owned land will also be a key responsibility.
Requirements:
* Qualifications or experience in horticulture, conservation, or a related discipline are highly desirable.
* Proven experience in weed identification and control, including the operation and maintenance of powered equipment, is essential.
* Good computer skills and proficiency in electronic mapping systems are necessary for field work.
* A Class C Driver's Licence (or higher) and General Construction Induction Training Card are mandatory.
* AQF Level 3 Chemical Handling Accreditation or willingness to obtain is also required.
* SafeWork NSW Implement Traffic Control Plans accreditation or willingness to obtain is necessary.
* Vaccination for Q-Fever and provision of evidence is a requirement.
