The Opportunity
We're seeking compassionate team members who share our values and can provide flexible, person-centred support. Our children love music, art, cooking, dancing, drawing, and exploring their community. Every program we deliver is tailored to each child and their family, working towards their unique goals.
This is a maternity leave contract, with a minimum of 3 days per week. Full availability across our program hours is required. You'll be delivering our Early Intervention Programs under the supervision of experienced therapists. These programs are developed in collaboration with families and a multidisciplinary team.
The Role
Location: Southport (easily accessible by train and bus)
Hours: Tuesday–Friday 9:30am–4:30pm, Saturday 10am–2pm
Contract: Maternity leave cover (minimum 3 days per week, full availability required)
Pay: Competitive, based on qualifications and experience, with opportunities for growth
As part of our team, you will:
* Support communication development using PECS and other tools for non-speaking children
* Build cognitive skills through games, art, craft, and computer-based educational programs
* Promote physical wellbeing with activities for strength, balance, and sensory integration
* Encourage independence through daily living skills (cooking, dressing, personal care) using Active Support principles
* Foster creativity, interests, and community participation.
About You
We are looking for team members who:
* Have experience working with children of different abilities
* Are motivated and a team player
* Are patient, empathetic, and committed to encouraging independence
* Bring initiative, creativity, and problem-solving skills to support learning
* Have qualifications or experience in the disability/community sector, particularly with autism and developmental delays
Essential requirements:
* Current Blue Card
* First Aid & CPR
* Full working rights in Australia
