**Principal Project Officer**
The Principal Project Officer will lead the implementation of critical software solutions for the management of registered brands under the Brands Act, with workplace health and safety implications. The projects have progressed to the development and implementation phase of the preferred solution. This role will be responsible for completing the implementation and delivery of the system solutions, including engaging with external vendors and internal stakeholders such as IT and relevant business areas.
This role does not have direct reports or dedicated resources assigned specifically to the remaining project work. It is part of a broader team handling various responsibilities outside of these projects and will primarily operate independently.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Undertake project activities and ensure successful outcomes by developing and managing elements such as project plans, budgets, consultations, records, and registers in line with approved project management methodologies.
- Prepare progress reports, correspondence, briefings, and submissions related to project development, progress, and key issues.
- Review, negotiate, and manage project deliverables, ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations and approved project plans.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrate strong skills and knowledge in implementing software solutions related to customer management systems.
- Support the preparation and distribution of high-quality project documents and reports under the direction of the project manager and/or sponsor.
- Utilise recognised project management techniques, methodologies, and relevant software as required.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues, ensuring proper documentation, review, and escalation with recommendations where necessary.
- Develop documentation of system specifications and provide training to users as required.
**Highly Desirable**:
- Three years of experience in project leadership roles or demonstrated skills and capabilities relevant to the role.
**Term of Engagement**:
The contract term is up to three months, with the possibility of extension.
