A well established defence engineeringorganisation supporting major Naval platforms is seeking a Senior Combat Systems Integration Engineer to join its Sydney‐based team. The organisation operates within a long‐term design support and sustainment program, deliveringcomplex combat system integration outcomes across in service naval vessels.
Your new role
Reportingto the Project Engineering Manager, you will provide senior levelcombat systems integration expertise across naval ship platforms. This role isfocused on platform integration, technical assurance and engineering delivery,working closely with multidisciplinary teams and Defence stakeholders.
Your responsibilitieswill include:
1. Delivering combat systems integrationengineering across naval platforms using robust systemsengineering processes
2. Providingtechnical support and integration oversight for:
* CombatManagement Systems and sensors (radars, surveillance systems, tactical datalinks)
* Weaponsand sensor systems (missile systems, gun systems, fire control,countermeasures)
* Communicationssystems (satellite and terrestrial radios, IP networks, intercom and switchingsystems)
* Navigationsystems (ECDIS, navigation radars, inertial navigation systems)
* Entertainmentand training systems
3. Undertaking technical investigations, rootcause analysis and solution development
4. Managing whole‐of‐ship and compartment integration, including cabling, HVAC, electrical,weight and platform impacts
5. Producing high‐quality technicalreports and engineering documentation in accordance with customer and regulatory standards
6. Planning and coordinating engineering tasks from concept through to delivery
7. Leading and participating in designcoordination and design review meetings with internalteams and Defence stakeholders
8. Providing mentoring and technical guidance to junior engineers as required
9. Operatingin accordance with WHS, environmental and quality requirements within aregulated defence environment
What you'll need to succeed
10. Strong experience in combat systemsintegration or related naval systems engineering
11. Background working within a technicaldefence or maritime environment
12. Demonstrated understanding of combatsystems, communications and sensor technologies
13. Experienceintegrating complex systems into ship platforms
14. Ability to read and interpret electricalsingle line diagrams and cable block diagrams
15. Strongstakeholder engagement and communication skills
16. Ability to work autonomously, manage competingpriorities and deliver in high‐pressure environments
17. Eligibility to obtain and maintain NV1security clearance
