Health & Safety Business Partner at Cleanaway Waste Management. This is a hands-on, site-focused role reporting to the Senior Health & Safety Business Partner. You will oversee health, safety, and process safety while working closely with frontline teams and leadership to drive continuous improvement in safety culture and systems. You'll support operations across nine sites, including the Greenacre recycling facility, transfer stations, and the CWY Sydney C&I depot. The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Health & Safety Business Partner, you will oversee health, safety, and process safety while working closely with frontline teams and leadership to drive continuous improvement in safety culture and systems. You'll support operations across nine sites, including the Greenacre recycling facility, transfer stations, and the CWY Sydney C&I depot. This is a hands-on role where you'll collaborate with leaders and frontline teams to cultivate a strong safety culture and ensure everyone goes home safe, every day.
Responsibilities
* Coaching and developing frontline leaders to build their HSE capability, including delivering engaging toolboxes, Risk Management, Incident Investigation, and H&S Management system compliance.
* Supporting teams to assess risks, complete assurance audits, and improve safety outcomes.
* Guiding and coaching investigations (ICAM knowledge a bonus) to identify root cause and helping sites implement corrective actions.
* Collaborate with key HSE team members and stakeholders to effectively partner to deliver key changes or requirements.
* Embed a strong safety culture across site operations through the application of HSE Behaviors and the establishment of a learning culture.
* Keeping regular check-ins with sites to ensure ongoing engagement and improvement.
About You
* Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety (WHS).
* Experience in HSE within heavy industry or high-risk operational environments.
* Ability to influence and drive change through H&S initiatives and programs.
* Demonstrated experience in machine guarding and risk control of moving machinery
* Skilled in developing and delivering engaging safety training and toolbox talks
* Solid grasp of permit-to-work systems, especially in confined space scenarios.
