Located at Manly Wharf, Felons Barrel Room is the home of Felons Sydney's barrel-aged beer program - a meeting point of experimental brewing, live music, and boundary-pushing flavour.
A destination for creatives, flavour seekers, and the curious; Barrel Room pairs intimate gigs and rotating DJs with soulful dishes from Saigon Supper Inn and a curated selection of barrel-aged beers.
We are looking for someone to lead the daily operations with energy, professionalism, and a focus on delivering an epic guest experience. This role oversees all front-of-house activities, ensuring smooth service, engaged teams, and strong financial performance in line with venue goals.
As the face of the venue, the Venue Manager embodies the Felons spirit, welcoming, bold, and quality-driven, while upholding the operational standards of the Artemus Group. This role plays a key part in shaping a positive team culture, maintaining a safe and well-run venue, and driving continuous improvement across all areas of service, efficiency, and guest engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
* Manage rostering in alignment with budget forecasts and operational demands
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all menu offerings, ensuring team training and communication is clear and current
* Partner with chefs and marketing to coordinate and execute weekly menu updates and printed collateral
* Approve and coordinate quarterly beverage pricing updates in consultation with the General Manager
* Monitor and report on key operational metrics, including wage costs, comps, wastage, and stock control
* Recruit, lead, coach, and develop a high-performing, diverse team with clear structure and accountability
* Champion a culture of passion, quality, and hospitality across all areas of the venue
* Execute and support an annual training calendar covering food, beverage, service, and guest engagement
About you:
* 3–5 years' experience in a similar leadership role within a high-volume hospitality environment
* Strong knowledge of licensing laws, food safety and health & safety regulations
* Proven track record of achieving financial targets and improving operational efficiency
* Ability to handle high pressure situations and make strategic decisions
* Proficiency in using POS systems, inventory management and financial reporting tools
* Responsible Service of Alcohol and Gaming (RSA) (RSG) certificate
