Complete Staff Solutions are recruiting for a Permanent, Full Time, Landfill Operator for our client, City of Coffs Harbour
Basis of role: Permanent, Full-Time, 38hrs per week
Location: New England Waste Management Facility
Start date: Commencement ASAP - must be available across a 7 day roster
Salary: Competitive salary (from $66, depending on your capabilities and experience + Level 2 Adverse Working Conditions Allowance + On call allowance when applicable + 12% superannuation
Purpose of the role:
The position is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the City of Coffs Harbour landfill plant, the compaction, covering and management of tipped waste at the tip face, the containment and control of surface water, soil erosion and siltation over the landfill area, active participation in implementing the Environmental Management System for the Englands Road Waste Management Facility.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate the compactor, track loader, excavator, water truck, tip truck, forklift and any other plant assigned to you efficiently and effectively, and to meet the required technical, safety and environmental standards and all legal requirements.
* Carry out routine daily checks on all City owned or operated vehicles and plant.
* Ensure vehicle and plant are maintained, including in a clean and tidy state, paying attention to track gear, windows and operators station.
* Report any damage, faults or breakdowns to plant or vehicles

Essential Requirements:
* Certificate lll in Civil Construction, or equivalent relevant experience
* Minimum two (2) years previous experience and relevant tickets on at least one of the following machines: Waste Compactor, Track loader, Excavator, Front-end loader
* National Construction & Induction Certification ('Whitecard')
* Current Class HR NSW Drivers Licence
* First Aid Certificate
* Ability to provide two work related references
* Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical
* Ability to pass a Urine Drug and Alcohol Test
Desirable:
* Asbestos awareness training
* Experience in the Waste Industry
* Experience in landfill operations or similar
* Forklift Licence (LF class)
* Drum muster training
Capabilities:
* Understanding of landfill operations, waste acceptance protocols and Environmental Management System requirements
* Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
* Demonstrated ability in operating plant and equipment (e.g. compactor, track loader, excavator, water truck, forklift) safely and efficiently
* Demonstrated knowledge and capability in working with contractors and customers visiting the site through agreed working practises
* Demonstrated written, verbal and numeracy skills
* Demonstrated time management skills
