Organisation Raising Literacy Australia is a not-for-profit organisation committed to enriching children's lives through everyday literacy.
Through our programs, we:
Encourage reading for all, Build awareness of the importance of reading to young children from birth, Support family engagement through activities such as regular reading, playing, singing, and talking, Develop children's literacy and numeracy skills prior to entering formal education, Improve government, corporate, community and early childhood sector's understanding of early childhood development through education and training, Foster a lifelong appreciation of books and reading. We also run our own children's picture book publishing house, Little Book Press.
Position Office Manager / Senior Administration Support
Primary duties and responsibilities Administrative Duties Email and phone monitoring Office management including fire safety, insurance, security systems, postage, cleaning Maintain office supplies and inventory Finance and Accounts Support Generate quotes and invoices using Xero Follow up overdue invoices for payment Manage banking post and cheques Community Development Volunteer management Fundraising support HR Support Coordinate staff inductions Coordinate interviews Assist with drafting employment contracts Maintain employee records Executive Assistance Provide administrative support to executives, including calendar management and travel arrangements Coordinate events/functions for the organisation Serve as a liaison between executives and external stakeholders Secretariat support to Board Distribution Operations Manage data and facilitate distribution of Words Grow Minds Baby and Preschool reading packs Little Book Press Publishing Support Assist with quotes and purchase orders Fill and distribute orders and invoices Stock management Liaise with authors and illustrators Skills and Attributes Our ideal candidate will need: Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail Minimum of 2 years' experience in a senior administrative role Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word, and confident in learning and applying new systems and technologies Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong people skills Demonstrated collaborative behaviours, an ability to work in a small team or individually A passion for early childhood development, literacy, and social inclusion An abundance of energy, commitment, and a sense of humour Salary This is a full-time position, $70 – 80k dependent on skills and experience.
