Shine Bright Mental Health is seeking an experienced and values-driven Support Coordinator to join our growing team. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about trauma-informed, recovery-oriented practice and enjoys helping people with psychosocial disability navigate the NDIS with clarity, confidence, and support.
About the Role
As a Support Coordinator, you will work alongside participants to help them understand, activate, and implement their NDIS plans. You will coordinate supports, build capacity, and advocate to ensure participants can work toward the life they choose—one step at a time.
Key responsibilities include:
* Interpreting NDIS plans in line with participant goals
* Coordinating funded, informal, and mainstream supports
* Linking participants with appropriate services, clinicians, and community supports
* Advocating with providers, government agencies, and community networks
* Building participant capacity in decision-making, budgeting, and navigating systems
* Monitoring progress and adapting support approaches as needed
* Completing reports, documentation, and accurate record-keeping
Using de-escalation strategies in high-stress situations and escalating as required
This is not a crisis role. Crisis matters follow escalation pathways supported by senior clinical staff.

Essential skills & capabilities:
* Experience in NDIS Support Coordination or a similar coordination role
* Strong communication, interpersonal and active listening skills
* Ability to support participants with complex mental health needs, including schizophrenia, dual diagnosis, suicidal ideation, anxiety, depression, and personality disorders
* High-level administrative, organisational and time-management skills
* Computer literacy and confidence using systems and technology
* Ability to work autonomously and within a supportive clinical team
* Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
You must hold one of the following (any ONE is suitable):
* Mental Health Nurse
* Social Worker
* Occupational Therapist
* Psychologist
* Developmental Educator
* Certificate IV or Diploma in Mental Health, Community Services, or related field
Plus required checks:
* NDIS Worker Screening
* National Police Check
* WWCC (if relevant)
* AHPRA registration if applicable
