The Opportunity
Risk management at China Trade Institute is not about being the "Department of No." It is about being the
Department of "How."
We are seeking a
Senior Risk Analyst
to act as the guardian of our capital. You will sit between the Trading Desk and the Executive Team, ensuring that our pursuit of alpha does not expose the firm to ruin. You will build the frameworks that allow us to trade aggressively but safely in volatile markets (Crypto & TradFi).
Your Mission
* Quantify the Unknown:
Calculate and monitor VaR (Value at Risk), Expected Shortfall, and Greeks exposure in real-time across complex portfolios.
* Stress Test Everything:
Don't just rely on history. Simulate "Black Swan" events, liquidity crunches, and exchange failures to see if our strategies survive.
* Gatekeeper of Capital:
Approve or deny limit increase requests from traders based on data, not gut feeling.
* Build the Dashboard:
Automate risk reporting using Python/SQL so that risks are visible 24/7, not just in an end-of-day PDF.
A Day in the Life
* Morning:
Review overnight P&L and risk utilization. Flag any breaches of limits immediately to the Head of Trading.
* Mid-Day:
Code a new stress-test model in Python to simulate a 30% crash in Ethereum correlation with S&P 500.
* Afternoon:
Deep dive into a specific strategy's drawdown. Analyze if it was bad luck or a broken model.
* Evening:
Update the firm's liquidity forecast to ensure we can meet margin calls during high volatility.

* Python & SQL are required.
You can pull your own data and build your own models. Excel is not enough.
* Strong knowledge of statistical distributions and Monte Carlo simulations.

* You have the confidence to tell a senior trader "No" when their position size exceeds the risk budget.
* You can explain complex mathematical risks to non-technical stakeholders.
