An excellent opportunity exists for a qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Tradesperson to join a respected government team based in Waratah. This casual position offers a 9-day fortnight, competitive hourly rate, and the chance to work with a professional and safety-focused fleet maintenance crew.
About the role
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will perform inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair work on a range of heavy vehicles and plant equipment. This role supports operational readiness and compliance across the council's fleet.
Key responsibilities
* Conduct scheduled maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy vehicles and equipment.
* Identify faults and carry out corrective repairs in a timely manner.
* Complete safety and inspection documentation accurately.
* Contribute to a clean, orderly, and safe workshop environment.
What you'll need
* Trade qualification: Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent).
* Demonstrated experience maintaining heavy vehicles or plant machinery.
* Commitment to workplace safety and teamwork.
