The role:
MacKellar is seeking experienced Diesel Fitters / Plant Mechanics to join our established and growing maintenance team in Blackwater.
This is a permanent, workshop-based position supporting the maintenance and reliability of heavy earthmoving equipment within a professional, safety-driven mining environment.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining fleet availability and ensuring equipment is serviced to the highest mechanical and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform maintenance, repairs and component change-outs on heavy earthmoving equipment
* Conduct diagnostics, fault finding and breakdown repairs
* Complete scheduled preventative maintenance servicing
* Execute overhauls and general workshop repairs
* Follow maintenance plans, procedures and safety standards
* Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule and within cost expectations
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the workshop
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Trade qualification: Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter, Plant Mechanic or LV Fitter/Mechanic
* Post-trade experience within mining or heavy industry
* Experience maintaining heavy earthmoving equipment (highly regarded)
* Strong fault-finding and preventative maintenance capability
* Current Queensland Driver’s Licence
* A strong safety mindset and team-focused attitude
