About Argon Law
Argon Law is a highly regarded boutique commercial law firm based in Maroochydore, at the heart of the Sunshine Coast business community. We act for sophisticated private clients, business owners, property developers, and investors who value clear thinking, sound judgment, and practical legal advice.
Our firm is known for its commercial realism, quiet confidence, and lack of ego. We are deliberate about how we practice law, the work we accept, and the people we invite into our team.
We are a future-facing practice integrating AI-enabled systems to support complex transactions, enhance drafting precision, streamline due diligence, and free senior lawyers to focus on judgment, strategy, and client advisory at the highest level.
This role is suited to a senior lawyer who wants quality over volume, autonomy with support, and a professional environment that respects both competence and life outside the office.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Property and Business Lawyer to take a leading role within our practice.
You will work directly with clients and alongside senior colleagues on a diverse range of substantial and interesting matters. You will be trusted to manage files independently, exercise judgment, and contribute to the strategic growth of the firm.
This is not a volume-driven role. It is a position for a lawyer who enjoys responsibility, values craftsmanship in legal work, and wants to build a long-term professional home.
Your Practice Will Include
You will advise on a broad range of commercial property and related matters, including:
* Acquisitions and disposals of commercial, industrial, and retail property
* Retail and commercial leasing
* Property development and off-the-plan transactions
* Due diligence investigations
* Property structuring and titling arrangements
* Easements, covenants, and land use issues
* Property-related disputes, including encroachments
* Loans, securities, and mortgages
Experience in general commercial law will be highly regarded, particularly in:
* Business sales and acquisitions
* Commercial advisory work
* Contract drafting and negotiation
You will be supported by an experienced team of lawyers, paralegals, and administrative staff, and benefit from well-established systems and processes.
What We Offer
At Argon Law, we invest in people for the long term.
You can expect:
* A senior, trusted role with genuine autonomy
* High-quality work and an established client base
* A collegial, professional, and down-to-earth culture
* Competitive remuneration with recognition for contribution and performance
* Support for professional development and profile-building
* A firm that values integrity, discretion, and good judgment
* The lifestyle advantages of living and working on the Sunshine Coast
We believe in work-life integration, not performative busyness. Our lawyers are expected to think clearly, act responsibly, and deliver excellent outcomes - without unnecessary pressure or politics.
About You
You will ideally bring:
* Approximately 5–10 years PAE in commercial and commercial property law
* Experience gained within a recognised Australian firm
* Strong drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills
* Sound commercial judgment and a practical, solutions-focused approach
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a team
* Professional maturity, discretion, and reliability
* An interest in developing client relationships and contributing to the firm's growth, including collaborating with marketing and business development initiatives
