Perioperative Services Role
Theatre technicians play a pivotal role in ensuring safe and efficient surgeries. This position requires individuals to prepare the theatre environment, oversee equipment, and assist with patient transfer, positioning, and cleaning.
This is an opportunity to contribute to the organisation and management of safe patient care within the theatre complex. The ideal candidate will possess excellent teamwork and clinical skills, with opportunities for professional development and study leave.
The theatre is scheduled five days per week, with shifts comprising morning and afternoon sessions, and weekend emergency activity. We provide a range of perioperative services, including general surgery, orthopaedic, gynaecology, obstetrics, ENT, urology, dental, endoscopy, and paediatrics.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare theatre environment and provide oversight of equipment
* Assist with patient transfer, positioning, and cleaning
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and adhere to policies and procedures
* Work autonomously, contributing to safe patient care within the theatre complex
Requirements
* Certificate IV in Health Service Assistance (Operating Theatre Technical Support) or equivalent qualification
* At least 12 months' clinical experience working as a Theatre Technician
* Ability to work within clinical specialities with autonomy and accountability
* Good understanding of basic infection control principles
* Understanding and adherence to confidentiality expectations and commitment to values of respect, empathy, and professionalism
