Hays are working with a leading business based in Smithton in their search for an Accountant to join their team on a permanent part-time or full-time basis. Having been in operation for over 50 years, this newly created role is working with an award-winning organisation who really takes pride in what they do.
Your new role
Based in Smithton and reporting through to the CEO, in this newly created youll be responsible for leading a stable team, and essentially owning both the Financial & Management Accounting function. Youll work with the Finance/Administrative team to ensure;
* Month-end accounting and reporting to management
* Prepare month-end reconciliations
* Annual Financial Reporting (Including liaising with Auditors)
* Preparation of the Annual Budget
* Managing tax obligations including BAS, Payroll tax, and FBT documentation
* Other project work as required
Youll also maintain effective stakeholder relationships across the broader business and enjoy challenging the way things have historically been done.
What you'll need to succeed
Holding a Bachelors degree, you ideally have experience within a similar role, or from within public practice. Youll be outcome focused and have the proven ability to consistently meet tight deadlines. Youll have well developed communication skills, exceptional attention to detail and an analytical mindset which lends itself to problem solving. A high-level of proficiency in Excel is also essential, and youll enjoy problem solving with key stakeholders right across the organisation.
Youll also be prepared to undergo a national police check prior to commencement.
