Residential Support Worker Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team in Hedland. The primary purpose of this role is to provide support and mentorship to young people, creating a safe and respectful environment for them to thrive.
About the Opportunity:
This is a permanent position offering a variety of shifts, including day, afternoon, and overnight. When there are no young people residing in the bail house, you will transition into a community-based role focused on youth mentoring, community engagement, and stakeholder relationship-building.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide consistent support and mentorship to young people, helping them meet their bail conditions, engage in pro-social activities, and work toward personal goals.
* Facilitate or support the implementation of strengths-based, individualized activity plans developed in collaboration with the Coordinator.
* Promote healthy lifestyle choices by offering opportunities for participation in recreational, cultural, and wellbeing activities.
* Model respectful, compassionate, and non-judgmental behavior, acting as a positive influence and trusted adult in the young person's life.
Requirements:
* Minimum Certificate III in Community Services, Youth Work, AOD, or similar qualification, or relevant level of experience.
* Experience in delivery of services to young people, either individually or in groups.
* Ability to communicate well with young people and have an understanding of Aboriginal culture.
