The Water Group is currently seeking to appoint an **Operations & Maintenance Coordinator HVFMS** in an ongoing full-time capacity.
The role is responsible for leading a team in the development and management of efficient and effective maintenance and operational programs, projects and services for the Hunter Valley Flood Mitigation Scheme. It is also responsible for assisting in flood emergency management in accordance with National and State legislation, policies, guidelines and directions.
**About You**
The role requires you to deliver high level asset operations and maintenance management strategies and ensure that strategies are sustainable and provide services that support the natural and cultural heritage and recreational values across the HVFMS.
It also requires ensuring all agreed projects are delivered on time and to expected standards and requirements given the number of projects that need to be delivered and the size and complexity of each project.
You will also work with suppliers and contractors to ensure works are delivered on time to the required standard of stakeholders, including landholders and explaining the intent and limits to projects.
Key accountabilities include:
- Lead the delivery of the scheme's annual maintenance program, including risk assessing and prioritising asset defects, identifying engineering solutions, monitoring and auditing planned and reactive works. Lead the implementation and review of operational and maintenance contracts including consultation, negotiation, documentation, execution (within financial delegations) and performance management for the Hunter Valley Flood Mitigation Scheme in accordance with NSW procurement guidelines.
**Key Knowledge & Experience**
- Demonstrated experience in asset management and asset operations and maintenance implementation.
- Sound knowledge of floodplain risk assessment methods and floodplain management strategies.
**Essential Requirements**
- Tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent, relevant professional experience in asset and project delivery and/or operational and maintenance management in an infrastructure management environment.
- Current Australian Driver's licence.
