WA PCYC is seeking a passionate and skilled Youth Program Coordinator for our Centre in Kalgoorlie to take the lead in the hands-on delivery, development and evaluation of our safeSPACE™ program for young people in the community. safeSPACE™ is PCYC’s core diversionary program, supporting young people to participate in recreational, cultural, and developmental activities, alongside access to healthy meals and transport home. This underpins PCYC’s goals of reducing young people’s exposure to the justice system. About the Role: As the Youth Program Coordinator, you will: Lead the development, delivery, and evaluation of the safeSPACE™ program, including stakeholder engagement, providing hands-on support to young people and reporting. Provide supervision and leadership to a team of Youth Workers to ensure the effective delivery of the program. Ensure that the program runs safely and is welcoming of all children and young people at the Centre. Who we’re looking for: Proven leadership & experience – background in youth work, community services, social work, psychology or a related field (Diploma or higher preferred). PCYC supports ethical youth work practices, such as the Youth Worker Code of Ethics. The youth program coordinator will lead and support a team of local youth workers within their own community. Program development skills – experience designing, delivering, and evaluating youth programs. Cultural awareness - A strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, living within their communities. Stakeholder engagement- The youth program coordinator will work collaboratively with local youth services, community members, elders and police. Passionate & Resilient – ability to re-engage engage young people using a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach. Compliance ready – possess or willing to obtain a National Police Clearance (within a 6-month period) and a WA Working with Children Check.
