Position Profile: Australia's newest paediatric hospice is searching for a compassionate and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join its expert team of health professionals within the Paediatric Palliative Care and Hospice Service. The Nurse Practitioner will work autonomously to perform advanced physical assessment, request and interpret diagnostic and/or screening investigations, initiate and manage complex healthcare requirements, initiate referrals to relevant health providers and prescribe appropriate medications and other therapies.
The role will provide clinical leadership as appropriate and will have responsibility for developing standards of practice, initiating research, leading quality improvement activities and implementing changes to clinical practice.
The Nurse Practitioner practices at an advanced level within their scope of practice considerate of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) Nurse Practitioner standards of practice.
