The Opportunity: We have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Senior BMS Project Engineer to join our Digital Building Business in Brisbane. The Senior Project Engineer will lead the engineering delivery of Major Construction Projects, coordinating input from mechanical contractors, major builders, consultants, and customer-site personnel to ensure successful project outcomes. You will deliver engineering outputs for the assigned major projects portfolio, executed by yourself and other project engineers.
This is a long-term career opportunity in the Queensland market, delivering Iconic Landmark Projects across Healthcare Expansion and the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
* BMS control system design, implementation, and documentation
* Definition of scope — drafting and presentation of functional descriptions
* Assess customer site for installation requirements and design
* Prepare submittals in line with Schneider engineering standards; manage submittal dates and obtain submittal approvals with the engineering team
* Possess a comprehensive understanding of building automation system principles and design
* Plan and schedule project execution, including attendance at design meetings
* Provide technical direction to project team members
* Record and communicate all engineering/technical issues or risks to the Project Manager/Director
* Ensure commissioning, testing and final tuning are completed on time with proper documentation
* Represent the company professionally while meeting statutory and safety standards

Team and Development
As a Senior Engineer you'll guide Project Managers on technical issues, mentor junior engineering staff, and contribute to technical aspects of project delivery.
* Collaborate effectively with team members to maximise efficiencies. Involvement in Schneider Electric's Engineering Efficiency Program
* Participation in Schneider Electric web-based forums and Teams groups
In addition, you have the following skills
* Essential — Tertiary or trade qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic fields; Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics preferred
* Essential — Advanced computer skills
* Essential — Experience in the Commercial Construction industry BMS discipline
* Essential — Experience with highly complex control solutions
* Knowledge of networking, database technology and trends in BMS/HVAC advantageous
* Electrical License is preferred but not essential
