The Role
Efficiently utilise Structural 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools to develop models and drawings on various heavy industry projects including but not limited to structural steel, structural concrete and foundations for non-process infrastructure in the minerals industry. Typical applications include: heavy vehicle workshops; truck-wash facilities; site accommodation facilities; site offices; temporary structures; materials handling structures; conveyor and transfer station structures; structural platework; bins, hoppers and chutes. Having industrial experience in general infrastructure such as buildings, bridges, modular structures and warehouses will also be highly considered.
* Deliver Structural Design model outputs and work plans to the requirements of clients, engineers, drafters and designers, with minimal supervision.
* Deliver high quality and accurate model outputs and 2D drawings in accordance with codes, regulations, structural standards and project requirements.
About You
* Working knowledge and comprehensive understanding of structural connections, Building Codes, Australian Standards and Mines Authority requirements to meet the relevant project design.
* Be passionate about learning and seek feedback to ensure professional and technical career development.
* Good understanding of structural steel and concrete engineering principles, fabrication, surface protection, transport, erection of structures, structural design processes and industry safety considerations and requirements.
* Proficient in the use of 2D and 3D design and drafting software packages such as AutoCAD and MicroStation, Tekla, Smart3D, Autodesk Advance Steel, and AutoCAD suite.
* Highly effective in the estimating, progress measurement and reporting for detailed design deliverables.
* Minimum 10 years of experience in the design and delivery of minerals infrastructure projects.
* Good understanding of BIM / DE requirements and deliverables
* Effective communication skills.
