Lecturer (EF) Rural - Wagga Wagga
UNSW Rural brings world-class medical education to rural and regional Australia, delivering the full 6-year medical course at our rural campuses.
This role is part-time (7 hours a week) on a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2026.
Remuneration is 127,947 base pro-rata, plus 17% superannuation, leave loading and clinical loading (as appropriate).
Work rights: Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants must have full rights to work in Australia.
This position is based in Wagga Wagga, NSW, Australia.
Details: This Education Focused (EF) role enables academics to specialise in education, delivering high-quality teaching and advancing the educational experience in our teaching and learning communities.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality teaching with a demonstrated interest in rural medical education and a focus on the application of basic sciences for clinical competency and patient-centered interdisciplinary healthcare.
Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, and small group teaching for the undergraduate program.
Contribute to educational excellence within the university's teaching and learning communities.
Support recruitment of rural students through the Rural Entry Admissions Pathway (REAP) including participation in interview training and entry interviews.
Collaborate with the Director of Medical Education at the identified campus.
Key Skills and Qualifications
A BMedMD, MBBS (or equivalent), and a Fellowship of a Specialist Medical College; eligible for medical registration in New South Wales.
Proven experience in practical face-to-face teaching and supervision at undergraduate level with a commitment to rural medical and health education.
Ability to articulate a well-defined teaching philosophy that inspires student learning and engagement.
Experience in preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials and small group teaching for the undergraduate program.
Ability to support recruitment of rural students through REAP and participate in interview training and entry interviews.
