About the role
We are seeking enthusiastic and committed Plastic Surgery Registrars to join our busy and highly regarded surgical team. Working under the supervision of the Head of Unit and Professor of Surgery, you will provide high-quality patient care across the Plastic Surgery Service, ensuring patients are managed in accordance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and best-practice standards.
The successful candidates will be responsible for assessing and managing patients, coordinating efficient ward rounds, reviewing investigation results, and ensuring timely implementation of treatment plans. You will play a key leadership role in supervising and mentoring Interns and Hospital Medical Officers, supporting their clinical development while maintaining excellent standards of patient care. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will liaise closely with consultants, nursing staff, allied health professionals, and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate seamless patient management and service delivery.

* There are 2 positions available that are suitable for Registrars interested in pursuing a career in Plastic Surgery.
* These roles will include six months of plastic surgery at either Maroondah or Box Hill, and six months of general surgery, which may include additional time in Plastic Surgery as well as nights or other relief covers.
* Successful people will be required to work across all Eastern Health campuses and participate in an after-hours on-call roster.
* These roles are in addition to the Statewide Plastic Surgery Unaccredited Registrar Match; applicants who have applied directly to the match are also welcome to apply for these positions separately.
