Hiring a Community Activity Coordinator involves seeking an enthusiastic individual with experience of working with seniors and understanding their challenges. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering wellbeing and physical health events and activities targeting those experiencing social isolation and loneliness.
This role is focused on building relationships with older people, charities, and agencies to design, promote, and deliver effective programmes.
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
* Designing and promoting wellbeing and physical health events and activities
* Establishing and maintaining networks with older people, charities, and agencies
* Engaging older people in programme design and delivery
* Setting up and coordinating activities at the Community Hub
* Recruiting volunteers to assist in programme delivery
* Assisting older people to access local community services
* Promoting the Community Foundation's activities in the surrounding area
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* An understanding of the impact of loneliness and self-isolation on wellbeing and health
* Knowledge of suitable games, sports, arts, and crafts activities for group participation
* The ability to motivate people and encourage participation
* Strong communication skills for partnerships with other organisations
* A passion for offering superior services and making a difference
* Experience of report writing, budgeting, and funding applications
