About the role
We are seeking a values driven cleaner to maintain a clean and hygienic environment of the kitchen, café, bathrooms, foyer, office, worship hall and meeting room of the Newcastle Worship Centre, in line with the values and ethos of The Salvation Army.
Reporting to the Corps Officer, this is a casual position based in Hamilton. Salary is in accordance with Miscellaneous Award Level 1.
You will successfully- Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, bathrooms, common areas are maintained for the health and wellbeing of clients and staff. Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Vacuum all carpet- Spot clean doors, handles & walls- Clean glass windows and doors- Sanitise frequently touched surfaces- Empty rubbish bins into skip bins- Mop floors- Wipe kitchen benches and microwave- Clean all areas within the toilets, ie basins, toilets, taps, urinal etc.- Check soap, paper towels and toilet paper and refill as needed- Check for cobwebs and remove- Clean cement entryways to the Centre and Cafe- Report maintenance and equipment issues quickly to the Corps Officer.- Ensure chemicals and other domestic products are stored safely and securely to meet the relevant MSDS guidelines & used in accordance with product guidelines.- Notify Corps Officers when cleaning products are requiring replacement.- Identify WHS risks and report hazards, incidents and near misses to Corps Officers in accordance with TSA guidelines)
You will have- Relevant qualifications and/or experience in Hygiene and Cleaning materials and methods highly regarded- Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) regulations and storage of chemicals- Experience in a similar role highly regarded- A national police record check is required- Current, valid NSW Working with Children Check- Compulsory Code of Conduct, WHS and Bullying and Harassment training modules are completed and up to date.- Physical fitness and energy required to respond to overall work demands
