Due to the expansion of robotic milking and associated barn equipment installations, we are seeking a full‐time Technical Support Specialist to support the growing interest in dairy automation across Australia and New Zealand.
As a Technical Support Specialist, you will be a key member of Lely Australia's support team, providing advanced technical expertise to our Lely Center network and dairy farming customers. You will support the performance of Lely's cutting‐edge automation systems, especially the Lely Astronaut milking robot, ensuring reliability, uptime, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
* Technical troubleshooting and diagnostic ability – both in the field and remotely.
* Excellent communication skills – able to support, coach, and guide Lely Center technicians.
* Flexibility for participation in an on‐call support roster.
* Willingness to travel for on‐site support and training (state, interstate, and international).
* Support Lely's cutting‐edge automation systems and contribute to continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* Hands‐on experience as a dairy technician – ideally in robotic milking, conventional milking systems, or any farm‐related activity.
* Strong understanding of dairy farms – cow routines and the needs of farmers.
* Experience in troubleshooting and diagnosing dairy equipment issues.
* Desire to move from field‐level work into a specialist technical role with broader influence.
* Openness to working with global experts and advanced automation technologies.
* Aiming to build a career pathway into technical leadership, product expertise, or international roles.
