Overview
Grampians Health is offering an exciting opportunity for New Graduate or first year Grade 1 Occupational Therapists to join the Ballarat team. You will rotate across Acute, Subacute, Community and specialty areas, delivering person‐centred care and developing strong clinical foundations. Full Time Fixed Term contracts are available until mid 2028, 40 hours per week including a monthly ADO. Salary packaging is also available.
The role is designed for new graduates seeking a dynamic, learning‐focused environment with regular 1:1 supervision and a structured tutorial program to build confidence and capability.
New graduates are encouraged to review the Department of Health Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy Grant program, which provides grants totalling $15,000 for final year students who practice in regional or rural Victoria upon completion of their studies. Key Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver service in accordance with the clinical program model or care and requirements
* Participate in group programs and deliver presentations to community groups as directed by the Deputy Manager Occupational Therapy
* Demonstrate knowledge of the Grampians Health strategic plan and an understanding of factors that affect health systems in regional and rural Victoria
* Comply with AHPRA, OH&S legislation and Grampians Health policies and procedures
* Actively engage in and provide professional development and model a commitment to lifelong learning
Skills & Experience
* Bachelor or tertiary equivalent in Occupational Therapy
* Registered as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* Current driver's license with no restrictions
* Knowledge of assessment, treatment and management options for acute, rehabilitation and community patients with various diagnoses, and a commitment to quality care and evidence-based practice
* Ability to work independently and appropriately identify when to seek help
