The Geelong College Music Department offers an outstanding and dynamic music program, enriched by expert educators and unique musical experiences. Music is a vibrant part of the College life, with students engaging in a rich culture of performance and individually tailored learning programs.
The successful applicant will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in music education, with the ability to inspire and engage students through innovative and contemporary teaching practices. The role also includes contributing to ensemble programs, supporting performances, and working collaboratively with Instrumental Music Teachers and the broader Music Department.
This is a 0.5 FTE position, with required working days of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Qualifications and Experience
* Demonstrated ability to teach classroom music to students (Years 4-8)
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Music (or equivalent) and/or experience as a professional musician
* Evidence of Right to Work in Australia
* Relevant educational qualification (tertiary music degree or diploma) and/or experience in a similar role as a professional musician
* Current Victorian Institute of Teachers (VIT) registration
* Current Certifications in:
o First Aid (HLTAID011)
o CPR (HTLAID 009)
o Asthma Management
* Completion of either:
o The College's anaphylaxis training, or
o Accredited course: 22578VIC - Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis
