Overview
Your role and responsibilities
Responsibilities
* As a Senior Solution Architect you will be responsible for the design and implementation of IBM Power Systems projects to be executed by various cross-functional teams. These teams could include vendors and other internal and external resources.
* You will interact closely with multiple teams to define the project parameters and to support the Power Systems teams to develop detailed project documentation to outline the project scope, business requirements, project plans, schedules and status.
* During delivery you would provide guidance and direction to Program and Project Managers, and technical leaders also assigned to the project.
* What you will do:
* Communicate with the client teams and their customers to understand their business problems and goal
* Architect, deploy, and provide Power Systems solutions utilizing IBM Power Systems products
* Provide technical assistance to clients based on your area(s) of technical expertise
* Help implement IBM Power Systems products and assist clients to use these to their full potential
* Understand migration paths to IBM Power Systems and assist Sales teams with project definition and subsequent project set up
* Providing end-to-end technical guidance to lead discovery discussions with clients, assess architecture needs for projects, work with clients and sellers to create solution proposals, and guide delivery teams during implementation.
* Lead client workshops to influence stakeholders and develop actionable roadmaps for business value and ROI.
* Design and construct work breakdown structures, creating proposals and statements of work.
* Provide technical oversight for large complex, multi-workstream implementation and migration projects for clients on the IBM Power Systems platform
* Provide technical direction to Project Managers who will also be assigned to the project
* Consult with management and provide input to review project proposals to determine goals, time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, and allocation of resources.
* Participate with Project and Program Management for communication with management internally and at the customer (including Executives) on ongoing status, milestones, and project risks
* Review and analyze process and procedures in order to find opportunities for improvement and increased efficiencies, then help drive implementation of these improvements
* Being a trusted advisor at all levels
* This is a remote job opportunity which will require some limited travel to client sites across Australia and New Zealand.
Qualifications
* Required education: Bachelor's Degree
* Preferred education: Master's Degree
* Required technical and professional expertise:
o 7 years+ experience with IBM Power Systems technologies, across solution design, implementation and migration services, including:
o Experience working and communicating with "C" level executives as well as technical managers
o Ability to act as a trusted adviser to customer Executives and senior Technical leaders
o Demonstrated deep knowledge of IBM Power platform and operational considerations
o Demonstrated excellent written and communications skills
o Experience leading cross-functional technical teams
o Strong negotiation skills with the ability to organize competing priorities and adapt to change
o Must be an Australian citizen preferably with Australian Federal Government clearances (or willingness to apply for appropriate clearances)
* Preferred technical and professional experience:
o Government Clearance (Minimum Baseline)
o IBM Storage implementation and migration services skills
