The Opportunity

As our Payroll Officer, you will play an important part in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time. You will work closely with the Payroll Manager and the broader finance team to process end-to-end payroll, maintain data integrity, and support employees with payroll enquiries.

We're looking for someone with experience in mid to large multi‑site organisations, ideally operating across multiple states, with a strong understanding of award and enterprise agreement interpretation, timecards, and the complexities of a childcare or similarly structured workforce.

This role offers hybrid working arrangements, allowing flexibility between our Support Office and working from home.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, values‑driven environment, enjoys problem‑solving, and is confident managing payroll for a diverse workforce across multiple sites and awards.


Key Responsibilities

* Process fortnightly payroll for a large, award‑covered workforce across multiple centres.
* Ensure compliance with relevant awards, employment agreements, and Fair Work requirements.
* Review and maintain payroll data, including onboarding details, terminations, salary sacrifice changes, and employee movements.
* Respond to payroll queries and provide clear, timely support to employees and centre leadership teams.
* Review and process superannuation, taxation forms, and statutory requirements such as Paid Parental Leave and Separation Certificates.
* Work collaboratively with the People & Culture team on payroll‑related matters including adjustments, bonuses, and workforce changes.
* Assist with reporting, payroll audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.


What you will bring

* Experience processing payroll in a mid to large, multi‑site environment (multi‑state preferred).
* Previous UKG/Payroll Metrics experience desirable (but not required).
* Strong understanding of award and agreement interpretation.
* Confidence managing timecard‑based workforces.
* High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
* A proactive approach and the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Excellent communication skills and a professional, approachable manner.
* Experience with payroll systems and a willingness to learn new platforms and processes.
