Who we are
The Digital, Design and Editing section works with the department's communications experts and business areas to produce digital and print products that meet accessibility, branding and government style requirements. Our work includes writing, editing, usability testing, digital design, web publishing and training authors to prepare their content for publication.
The Job
The successful applicant is required to work to tight deadlines, producing work of a high standard. Responsibilities include:
maintaining the editing helpdesk by advising staff on department style, branding, accessibility and other relevant issues
providing phone, online and in-person training to staff to ensure they have the skills to produce MS Word documents and other content that meet the department's accessibility, style, branding and publication requirements
providing a pre-publication accessibility check and formatting service to ensure that content meets publication requirements
helping to maintain and update style guides, training tools and user tools to meet the needs of the department
advising external contractors on branding and accessibility requirements
overseeing training session bookings
What we are looking for
Knowledge and experience
Editing qualifications or equivalent experience.
Proven proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Proven knowledge of accessibility requirements for MS Word documents.
Experience delivering Word formatting and accessibility training online.
