Salary Range Band 5 $82,356 - $94,961 plus 12% SuperEmployment Permanent Full time 35 hours per week plus rostered weekend shifts and including one weekday evening shiftLocation Based at the St Kilda Library but may be rostered to other branches in the Port Phillip Library Service
About the Organisation
The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors.
These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more.

We're seeking a Collection Development Librarian to join our innovative Collections Team.
In this pivotal role, you'll work closely with subject matter experts and under the guidance of the Team Leader Collections to build and maintain dynamic collections that inspire and engage readers of all ages and backgrounds.
This is a Permanent Full time 35 hour per week role with rostered weekend shifts including one weekday evening shift.
Responsibilities
Build Community-Focussed Collections: Select and acquire materials for adult, children, and youth collections including Languages Other Than English (LOTE) and digital formats.
Collaborate & Innovate: Partner with subject experts to refine collection profiles, document acquisition procedures, and deliver training that empowers staff across the library network.
Deliver Impactful Projects: Drive collection development initiatives that enhance our offerings and respond to emerging trends and community needs.
Provide Customer Service Excellence: Act as a shift supervisor and provide outstanding customer service, helping connect people with the resources they need.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in Library and Information Management with relevant experience in collection development and acquisitions.
Financial and procurement experience including but not limited to purchasing and invoicing as well as budget monitoring.
A commitment to diversity, inclusion and accessibility in collections.
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
